Susanna Arwin in the exhibition “With the purse as a weapon”

We are happy to once again welcome Susanna Arwin with an exhibition at our gallery.
In the exhibition we will see painting, graphics and sculpture in glass and bronze.

Susanna Arwin is an artist constantly actual in the Swedish public. Her work radiates civil courage with a call to bravery and to have the heart in the right place when it matters. For many, Susanna Arwin is strongly associated with “the aunt with the bag” and through tributes to strong aunts who steadfastly stand up for a humane perspective in their unwavering ordinariness. With the purse as a weapon if necessary.

For Susanna Arwin, the expression has always changed between different techniques and imagery, depending on what is to be said through her. She works with sculpture, paintings and collage. She makes her own paper from linen pulp where the leather-hard sheets are broken down and then put back together in collages. Her sculptures are designed and created in glass, porcelain, bronze and concrete.
